Work Experience

  • Strategic Business Partner / Manchester City Council / Feb 2022 – Dec 2023

    As a senior leader within the ICT department, I acted as the key link between the business and their needs and the delivery of solutions to them, both through the delivery of new projects, and the liaison with technical staff to ensure key services are provided at the required standard. This role required significant stakeholder management and support, the ability to craft solutions to their needs, and the skills to assist in the change management needed to take advantage of them.

  • Programme Manager / Manchester City Council / Feb 2016 – Feb 2022

    Working across the ICT Delivery portfolio, I manage a team of project managers to implement effective solutions for multiple areas of the council. Many of these systems are directly customer facing, with a need to interact safely and securely with backend systems.

  • Senior Project Manager / Manchester City Council / Oct 2015 – Feb 2016

    As Senior Project Manager, I delivered a number of ICT projects in the Growth and Neighbourhoods directorate, while managing a varied team of project professionals. These projects improved services for members of the public across Manchester.

  • Owner, MD / Ryton Projects Ltd / Jan 2007 – Oct 2015

    In this role, I completed major procurements, played a part in the launch of a new national body, including the business change management needed to merge three organisations, and rolled out technologies across significant numbers of staff, locations, and bodies.
